✨ Meet Our MHMD 2023 Grant Applicants ✨ Introd ✨ Meet Our MHMD 2023 Grant Applicants ✨ Introducing HUA Chinese Dance Group from Princeton University! 🌸 🌟 Today, we are thrilled to spotlight HUA Chinese Dance Group, one of the incredible organizations that have applied for the MHMD 2023 Grant. 🕺💃🏽🎶 🌸🌟 Mission Statement: "A group dedicated to Chinese dance for the love of dance. Grounded in classical Chinese dance, this group wishes to build a fun and nurturing environment where students get a chance to explore the creative side of cross-cultural fusion while learning traditional Chinese dance grammar and technique." 🗣️ Let's give a big round of applause to HUA Chinese Dance Group for their hard work, talent, and dedication to keeping our AAPI dance traditions alive! Over the years, we have grown to serve many purposes here on campus. To members of the East Asian community, we show them a piece of home. To the non-East Asian community, we serve as exposure to unfamiliar cultures and art forms. To non-dancers, we make dance accessible to beginners. To our members, we are a family. Triple 8 fosters the creativity and growth of its members to become dancers who can choreograph pieces and hold workshops. 🌟 SUMMER INTENSIVE TEACHER REVEAL 🌟 We're ho 🌟 SUMMER INTENSIVE TEACHER REVEAL 🌟 We're honored to announce that members of the world-renowned Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will be joining us as teachers at the 2023 PACDA Summer Intensive! Pioneered by the late Artistic Director Nai-Ni Chen, who received the posthumous Taoli World Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, the company is a rare Asian American woman-led professional touring company with programs for educational settings, community organizations, and mainstage venues. Their mission is to be a premier provider of innovative cultural experiences that reflect the inspiring hope and energy of the immigrant’s journey. Each work of the company aims to increase the visibility of the struggle, triumph, despair, and joy of the immigrant experience, bringing forth issues of identity, authenticity, and equality through cross-cultural experiences. With members of their dance company coming to teach at the PACDA Summer Intensive, students will have the opportunity to learn from some of the most talented and innovative performers in the dance industry. 🌟 SUMMER INTENSIVE TEACHER REVEAL 🌟 We are 🌟 SUMMER INTENSIVE TEACHER REVEAL 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Professor Tong Wang, a world-renowned artist, educator, and choreographer, will be teaching a master class at the 2023 PACDA Summer Intensive! With over 40 years of experience in the dance industry, Mr. Wang is a Taoli World Judge, PACDA Rotating Supervisor, and Associate Professor at the distinguished Dance Department of the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Wang graduated with honors from the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy in 1986 and went on to perform as a principal dancer with multiple companies, including Ballet West and Shanghai Ballet. He completed his B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees in Ballet Teaching and Choreography with the University of Utah Ballet Department and has since devoted his talents to the field of dance as a choreographer, dance professor, and master teacher. With his wealth of knowledge and expertise, Mr. Wang has collaborated with many prestigious dance schools and companies worldwide, including the National Ballet of China, Hong Kong Ballet, and Ballet West.
